about us

Fun Languages Almada is part of a school network of 13 language learning centers distributed throughout the country, with over 25 years of educational experience. The school is located in the center of Almada and is an accredited institution for preparing students for the Cambridge University Exams, as well as a DGERT-certified center.

The pedagogical methodology used is innovative and focuses on communicative interaction between teacher and student (from 3 years of age) promoted in a spontaneous, natural and non-compulsive way.

The methodology and materials used are regularly updated and our teachers are qualified and fluent (bilingual or native) in the language they teach.

Each class is made up of a maximum of 12 students and all of them are given language proficiency tests beforehand, so that the groups are made up of students of a similar level.

Our offer includes annual and semester courses, intensive courses, courses abroad, summer courses, preparation for certified exams, translations with or without certification and training for companies.

Devon Kirby

English teacher

A teacher from Durban, South Africa. He completed his TEFL certification course in September 2020 through The TEFL Academy. He has a great passion for football, which took him from South Africa to Europe in an attempt to build a career as a professional athlete. However, this dream did not come true and along the way he discovered another passion: teaching and learning languages.

In addition to teaching English, Devon is currently studying for a degree in International Business Management at the European University. This academic path has reinforced his belief that languages are fundamental, and that being fluent in multiple languages provides access to knowledge and wisdom that cannot be found in books alone.

For him, true understanding between people and building relationships are based on the ability to communicate effectively. He believes that those who have a genuine desire to understand others have everything to gain from learning new languages.

Really nice environment to learn in. Super friendly and helpful staff and teachers. Top marks all round will definitely recommend it to any of my English mates who want to learn Portuguese. My only issue would be they wouldn't let me buy any of the cool bits of furniture they have. They did kindly direct me to the quirky little shop they got it all from though. 👍
